TweetDeck for Android is social media client that allows you to connect to and manage multiple Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz, and Foursquare accounts with one app similar to the popular desktop client. This production ready version is now better than the beta release… I guess that’s why you slap a “beta” tag on it huh.
If you’re familiar with TweetDeck’s desktop app then you’re familiar with their “Columns” with are various social streams you can see all at once. For the mobile app each column is isolated and you easily switch columns by swiping left or right. The Home column aggregates all streams, Me column pulls all replies and comments your friends and followers directed at you, just as well as Direct column pulls in direct replies to you, and you can specify your own columns.
The app’s interface is very well done, really nice and clean. If the app is not displaying enough Tweets, etc. on the screen you can adjust the text size by pressing the menu button when you are viewing a column and adjust it from there. From the main menu you can add columns from each of your accounts that you add to the application. You can even set notification alerts for each column. Once you have all of your accounts set up and your columns for each account, navigating through each account is really easy, simply swipe through each column until you find the column you are looking for.
A few things that need improvement, there is no place to register for a Tweet Deck account on the sign in screen, you need to go to the TweetDeck website to register. When adding a picture you can only currently use pictures from your gallery or capture a picture from your Android device’s camera. More options from picture storage accounts such as TwitPic would be nice to have.
