A week ago, one of our reader (who want’s to remain anonymous) asked us for a easy way to add any file or folder (of course as shortcut) in Windows Control Panel. Well, we replied him that there’s a small app we know about for this propose and will share it ASPS. So today we are going through it. My Computer Manager is tiny one which can add (or remove that) any files or folders in My Computer and also in Control Panel. This software is available as both installable package and portable file and is really easy to work with. You will just need to follow a couple of steps to do with it. Let’s follow for the full info.
As previously mentioned, this app is available as both installable package and portable one, but if you choose the portable one – you will miss some functions like add Add To My Computer and Add To ControlPanel context menu. We are here using the portable one though.
To get started, run the app. There’s two option – one for adding a single file and another for adding a complete folder.
There’s also an option for choosing Simple method or advanced method. Let’s say simple.
Then an option for selecting where you want to put a shortcut – is it on My Computer folder or on Control Panel? As your wish.
Now, first select the place where you want to put the shortcut and then select any file or folder. The shortcut will be placed automatically.
If you want to edit any placed shortcut highlight it and then click on edit. You can now change the Name, Path, Command Argument to pass and Icon.
To delete any shortcut, highlight it and click on Remove icon (it’s like the recycle icon though),
That’s all about it. My Computer Manager is available as installable file and portable package both. It works on Windows 7, Vista and XP. Click here to go to My Computer Manager’s Official Site.
