IMGDissolver is an open source freeware program to create slideshows from your photos and videos. The application is also able to export the created slideshow as video files of different formats, including ISO images so you can burn and watch the slideshow from DVD. It is also able to convert videos, cut/trim specific parts and capture an image as well. In addition, you can apply different effects like Grey scale, Sepia, Sharpness and more others to your image. IMGDissolver allows you to put subtitles with customizable fonts on the top, center or bottom of the screen. You might experience some bug and other problems while using IMGDissolver because is still under development (alpha build). We observed that the software sometimes take much time to start then expected and also it hangs up a couple of time. Development setbacks aside, IMGDissolver is very easy to use and offers interesting features. The user interface is easy to assimilate as every major categories are followed with individual tabs. Just follow the tabs to prepare the slideshow and then use the functions of the upper bar to export the result.
As mentioned above, IMGDissolver is a portable software so you do not need to install it first. Just download and decompress the archive file and then double-click on the executable file to run the program. From the main tab, you can add images or import slideshow to your project. Add any background music from Music tab and then edit the music or video if needed from Audio Tools and Video Tools tab. Everything can be checked in the preview and you can modify any image or video. At the same place, you can adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, gamma and levels of blue, green and red colors easily. Finally, click on Effects and select any of the effects to give a special touch to the presentation if you want.
You have full control over the transition effects of the images, since you can choose the background color, determine the duration of transitions and even apply filters such as Grey Scale or Sepia and more. All this can be done from the Settings tab. There is a tab called Video Tools specifically for you to import, edit and convert a video file. You can cut a specific portion, determining the start and end points of it. You can also capture an image frame and extract audio from video. At any time, you can save the project in the desired format at IMGDissolver. You can also convert it in AVI format at a resolution of up to 800 x 576 pixels, or an ISO image which can be burned to a DVD.
