Just like the similar service provided by Dropbox, SkyDrive and others, it has client-side application for Windows, Mac and Android to manage Google Drive from anywhere. The Google Drive Desktop client application integrates this Google Drive service with Windows and Mac. With it, you can sync, upload and access all content in your account directly from the desktop through a folder. The program adds an icon in the Notification area, through which you can access its options. Google Drive client is a very simple and effective way to integrate the Google Drive to your system. The application provides everything you need to manage, access, and modify files residing on your account directly from your computer, which makes it much more useful when you're on your own machine. If you aren’t familiar with Google Drive yet, Google Drive is the latest service offered by Google. With it, you can upload your files in your Google Drive, manage/access them from anywhere and sync those through all your devices. Google Drive is offering 5GB free storage to all user which is expandable up to 16TB. If you don’t have any Google Drive account, then read How To Get A Google Drive Account. Once your Google Drive account is ready, download Google Drive Client to proceed.

After downloading the package, install it. On the first run, you will be asked to put your Google Account username and password.

Then Google Drive will show you the Getting Started window. Click Next and then Start Sync to start immediately. If you want to configure settings of Google Drive, then click on Advanced Setup. From here, you will be able to change default folder location of your Google Drive client, select which folder you want to sync, sync Google Docs files and let Google Drive start with the Windows.

Once everything is done, you will get a new folder on your Favorite menu named Google Drive, just like Dropbox or SkyDrive. It also has a system tray icon which allows you to change settings or advanced options.

From the Google Drive folder of your computer, you will get all your files uploaded in Google Drive account. You will be able to perform common file operations like Copy, Delete, Rename, Move etc. from here. You can also upload any files to your Google Drive only by pasting them in this folder. For test, we created an Test Uploads folder and pasted three files there.

Once the sync was finished, those files were available on Android Client and Web Account.

Google Drive is no offense, another great service offered by Google. It lets you save all your important files online so you may never fear to loose them. Google Drive client allows to keep you synced and your files up to dated through all your Devices. Google Drive currently offers 5GB for free and you may also buy extended storage if you need.
