After months of rumor and talking/debating about Google’s new product to cloud power your files, Google Drive has finally arrived with 5GB free storage offer (Expandable up to 16TB upon this writing). Although Google Drive hasn’t gone public yet for all, but you can check either your Google Drive account is ready or you need to wait for more. Yesterday we have got access to Google Drive and after some test, I have concluded that it’s going to be a big competitor of Dropbox or SkyDrive. If you haven’t yet got access to Google Drive and need a way to opt in, follow after the break.

First go to Google Drive and check whether your account is ready or not. If your account has already got the access then you will be taken to the Google Drive page (It’s just like Google Docs). Otherwise, you will be show the waiting page saying that your Google Drive hasn’t been available yet. Click on Notify Me from this page to get notified once your account is ready.

Then whenever your Google Drive account is active, you will receive and email saying so. Click on the Take me to Google Drive from that email to proceed.

Now you will be shown Welcome to Google Drive window with some info. Click on Try Google Drive to download Google Drive on your System.

Download and install Google Drive client for Windows, Mac and Android (iPhone version is under development) to try it on your machine.

It may take 8 hours to 1-2 days even more to get access to Google Drive once you opted-in for activation notification. If you have already got access, then download Google Drive Client and please wait for our hands-on review.
