On 25th February 2013, during an event on MWC-2013, ASUS announced the newest member of the hybrid devices series PadFone. Like its previous versions, the PadFone Infinity is a smartphone that can be docked into an additional screen and immediately turned into a tablet. The device - which runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean - is equipped with a 5-inch screen with 1080p resolution, having powerful configuration as follows:
- Quad-core Snapdragon 600 1.7 GHz processor.
- 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage.
- 2 GB of RAM.
- 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and f/2.0 lens (with ability to shoot up to 100 sequential images at 8 frames per second), and a 2 MP front camera.
Partially tablet, dubbed as "Infinity Station" brings a 10.1-inch screen, also with 1080p resolution, plus a battery of its own that should allow up to 40 hours of talk time working with the smartphone (which alone provides 19 hours).
The ASUS PadFone Infinity will be released first in Europe and has a suggested retail price of £799 - approximately $1,200, without taxes. The gadget will be available in gray, gold or pink colors. Check out some images below.
