By replacing the traditional Start Menu with the latest Metro Powered Start Screen, the whole things regarding interaction has been changed in Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Now here’s a simple and portable tool called NPowerTray to manage all options related to power like Shut Down, Hibernate, Log Off etc. from a simple system tray icon. NPowerTray is an extremely simple application but it’s real important while adjusting to Windows 8’s new UI. With it, you can Shut Down, Hibernate, Force Sleep (and others) the system from a single menu. NPowerTray is a free portable tool that creates a system tray icon to manage power options. If you double-click on the icon, Windows 8 will be shutdown automatically without any confirmation prompt. Right clicking the icon will let you access to all features which includes Shutdown, Reboot, Hibernate, Sleep, Lock, Log Off and some special options like Force Shutdown, Force Reboot, Force Hibernate, Force Sleep, Force Log Off, Hibernate (disable Wakeup Events), Sleep (disable Wakeup Events), Force Hibernate (disable Wakeup Events) and Force Sleep (disable Wakeup Events).
To start NPowerTray with the System, click on About from the right-click menus and then mark Start with Windows Desktop.
