Ultimate Tips to Speed Up Your PC and Boost Performance

Getting the most from PC is always a headache for all PC users – whether he/she is a pro or amateur. In fact no one knows how to deal with his PC safely and how to get the best performance from it. But it is true that – as days passes, your PC is becoming old and side-by-side using its performance. You have to accept it. You cannot expect that it will keep you a steady service forever. And sometimes, you need to replace it with a new one. It's natures law and you cannot deny (although it is a "Thing" but yet it's true). But you can make some tweaks and follow some guidelines to make your PC last long and give you a better performance. If your PC is taking almost a decade (Lol! Just for a sign) to boot up or to run any file. Some of you might think that it is difficult, but honestly it is fairly easy to maintain. You can easily grab the process. So let's join after the break for discussion.

Do More With Less:

Try to install a minimum number of application in your PC. Don’t make your PC a “Dust Bin” with so many unnecessary apps. So choose your application store wisely. Uninstall those software which you might not run for quite a few days.

Also make sure that you have installed you Operating System in the Primary Partition. If you use more then one Operating System, then keep the frequently used one in primary drive.

Make Space:

Clear duplicate files and make sure that you have left at least 15% blank space in all partition. Clean temporary files regularly. DONOT install games and big software in C:// drive. Always make sure that you have emptied the “Recycle Bin”.

If you can’t limit your hard disc usage, then transfer some files into CD/DVD. You can keep music, videos, movies and uninstalled software in a portable device.

Be Safe:

Always make a backup of the important files so that you will not loose your files even after an accident.

Never forget to use an AntiVirus! Install any one (and Only One) antivirus in your PC. Make sure it have “Self Defense Module”. If you want a free antivirus, I will recommend you to use “avast! Free Antivirus 6”. Check “5 Free Antivirus : Keep Your PC Safe”. Also be safe from malware. You don’t need a stand-alone Malware Removal for this. You should install “Advanced System Care”. It’s a free software and it can remove malware.

Try to be careful while sharing files via pen-drive or other portable device. It’s the best medium to get virus in your PC.

Clean The Registry:

One of the most common reason for a PC being slow down is Registry Errors. Clean and Optimize Registry for better performance. But it’s risky to do it manually. So use “Advanced System Care” for this (I have mentioned it above).

Maximize Disc Health:

As I have said above, to make sure that your hard disc is risk free and will give you the maximum performance, you have to left 15% blank space.

Also make sure that you are defragmenting all drives at least once a month. Defragmenting a drive will wipe all dusts and give an optimal performance. Windows default defragmenting tool is really slow. So I will tell you to try “Diskeeper” or “Smart Defrag” (integrated in “Advanced System Care”).

Then please search for Errors too. This will prevent from getting “Bad Sector” in your hard disc. Please not that you can not recover files which are allocated in a Bad Sector.

Try Simple:

Try to be simple with your usage. Please do not use Third-Party themes, icon package, screensaver, visual effect or other Windows customizing tools. Using this will slow your PC regardlessly . Be satisfied with Windows Default Theme. Let the windows choose what’s best for you.

Similarly, Don’t use big wallpaper in your desktop. Remember that the wallpaper will be stored in RAM. And also keep the wallpaper “Fill”. Do not use “Tile” or “Stretch” effect.

Try “Not To Put” any files, folders or shortcuts in Desktop. If necessary, create shortcuts from the file you want to pun in desktop and then make one folder with all shortcut and then put in in desktop.

Take Control:

Limit startup software. Only let the antivirus and one or two other important software to run at startup. To deactivate startup software :-

Go To Start » Run and type msconfig and enter. Then move to Startup from the upper panel and Check/Uncheck programmers to Allow/Disallow them run in startup. Then click OK. Also close unnecessary background programmers while using PC.

Similarly try the following run commands “temp” , “%temp%” , “local” , “prefetch” (without quote “  “) and delete all files there. You can also try “tree” run command.

Be Positive:

Do not restore your PC every now and then. This action will have a major effect on system files and the system can be damaged because of this. Similarly, don’t reinstall Operating System again and again. This will cause major hardware problem.

Do not unplug any device without removing it safely for PC.

Uninstall useless application but make sure that they have uninstalled perfectly. Uninstalled softwares might left a lot junk files and registry data. So use “Revo Uninstaller” to uninstall any application properly. It’s a free software.

Above all, make sure that you are keeping a good maintenance. Use a safe electrical connection, clean use pc and use it as a friendly manner.
