SpaceSniffer is a free, portable Windows utility that uses a tree-view to show you which areas on your hard drive take up the most space in a single view. Just scan your hard drive with the tool to see your hard drive, arranged in squares that represent which files and folders are using the most space. This app lets you lets you understand how folders and files are structured on your disks. By using a Treemap visualization layout, you have immediate perception of where big folders and files are placed on your devices. Click on any large block to see a breakdown of what's inside that folder, also organized by what's taking up the most space. You can also filter specific types of files from the scan, tag files and label them for review later, and search specifically for file types, modification dates, and more.

This is a portable software. Just download and run it (No installation needed). On home menu, it will display all partition and drive of your PC. Select any partition and then click on Start.

It will start analyzing selected drive. After meantime, it will finish analyzing. This application will also display instant result during the analyzing process. A progress bar will show the progress.

After finishing analyzing, it will display Ready instead of that progress bar. Same this will also be displayed at top bar and the bottom bar.

You can also have “More Description” and “Less Description” about a block on the default view by clicking on “More” and “Less” button.

Goto Edit > Configure to setup the application.

  1. You say the software is portable and doesn't require installation. When
    I run the file bs_SpaceSniffer.exe, Windows 7 tells me that Setup.exe
    by Conduit Ltd. wants Administrator Access to make changes to my system
    and settings.

    I clicked No.
