Previous week one of our reader “Nancy” placed one of her problem to use. She said that she had two younger brother and they use her own PC for gaming, watching movie etc. and disk space is a big issue for her now. It’s been a great problem to clean up his hard disk space regularly and now she is fed up with this. She was asking for a way to get rid of it. However, she is using Windows 7 Ultimate edition so we have a quick solution for this. Well – To Nancy, thanks for reaching us by. You can have one solution. You can limit the maximum amount of disk usage by editing registry. Here we are showing you how.

Note : This tutorial will only work on Windows 7 Ultimate, Enterprise and Professional editions.

1st hit the start menu and go to Run (or use Windows Key + R shortcut) and then type gpedit.msc then hit enter.

Navigate to Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles from the left sidebar.

Now double-click on Limit profile size from the right pane and open it.

From the top, select the “Enabled” button. Also, you can set the maximum profile size for each user profile and the custom message to show when the size is exceeded from the bottom part. Read the help content there for more info.
