There’s a lot of rich-featured Twitter client available for PC and Mobile device and we already featured some great Twitter client called MetroTwit, TweetDeck, Pidgin etc. Here’s a new-comer in this list called Echofon. Echofon is a cross-platformed Twitter client available for Windows, Mac, iOS and as well as a Firefox add-on too. Let’s talk about it’s Windows client today. It syncs and displays all new and unread tweets right on your desktop. You can be able to add multiple Twitter account and then switch between them quite easily. You can also manage your account, follow/unfollow/block any person, get unread massages/mentions using this. Besides it’s interface is really clean and sleek which you are surly going to enjoy.
To get started, just download and install the installer package from below link and then run it. During the first run, you will be asked to Authorize a Twitter account with it. Click on the “Authorize with Twitter” and then a new browser window will open. Sign in to your Twitter there.
Then you will be displayed the 5 tabbed home. This windows displays Twitter timeline in the first tab.
The mention tab displays tweets that are mentioning you. Similarly the message tab displays recent message to you.
The other tabs are “List” and “Search”. You can search for any terms and also save your searches from here.
Click on any user to visit their profile. You can follow or unfollow or even block someone from here. You can also send a message, report/block/mute any user or reply to them from here.
Click on the Echofon marking from the top to get advanced options like adding a new account, add image or Geo tags and access to Preference menu.
You can manage your account and add new ones from the “Preferences” option.
Echofon should be a big competitor in the field of both Desktop and Mobile client of Twitter. It’s sleek interface is my first choice as well as it’s ease of usage too. Echofon is available for Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac OSX, iPhone (iOS) and as a add-on for Firefox.
