SpareOne : A Cell Phone Designed For Emergency With 15 Years Battery Life [CES 2012]

Cell Phone is now one of the must have gadgets for any types of people. It got us connected with everything else from anywhere. So the evolution of cell phone continues with a radically changing manner. The machanism and the technology behind it is improving everyday. But unfortunately, the battery of a Cell Phone is unable to follow the evolution of hardware. So every day that passes, we have more powerful devices and thin and the more hi-tech device we are getting, but with batteries, at the same time, stays almost same and giving shorter life or even less.

Thinking about it, the XPAL Power company has developed a new Cell Phone, whose focus is not on many other functions a smartphone offers but only on it’s lifetime. With this ability, the SpareOne (Company behind Energizer and many other) returned with a phone for emergencies and it’s battery can last up to 15 years.

According to the manufacturer, the model uses only 1 AA battery and is ideal to be left in the glove compartment of the car. Although the battery life to be more than a decade in standby, the time devoted to energy conversation is 10 hours.

The product is on display at CES 2012 and it is available in UK stores for $49.99. Pretty affordable price really if it works just like it says.
