After leaving hints during CES-2013 that it would launch new Atom processors, aimed for mobile devices, Intel has finally unveiled a new series of processors dubbed as Clover Trail+ during the Mobile World Congress 2013. The computer giant announced three new Atom processors: Z2580, Z2560 and Z2520. The chips come with dual-core 2.0 GHz, 1.6 GHz and 1.2 GHz, respectively, plus a GPU of PowerVR SGX 544. That should make processors more competitive than the previous generation, at least with regard to its performance. Even so, they pass the test of using considerable battery.

Intel unveiled a new reference design using the Z2580 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of NAND, support WUXGA (1920x1200 resolutions) and rear camera up to 16 megapixels. More information about the use of the new processors should emerge in the coming months.
